It has been FOREVEr since my last post..The kids are doing great. Matthew just finished up his 1st season of tackle football...which I must add was undefeated....GO MATTHEW :() He was amazing! He may be small but he sure is mighty. The last three games he did qb sacks. His last game he "sacked the QB for a 13 yard loss and followed with a 5 yard tackle behind the line on a reverse"...........for you guys out ther that makes a lot of sense for me it makes a little bit of sense LOL

Madalyn had a good year in soccer. She made on average one goal per game. Go MADALYn.

Shawn and I just got back from NYC........yes NYC. It was one of the best adult trips ever I might add. To top it off we walked down the street and ran into Mel Gibson. That was pretty cool. We saw him numerous times that day. We got to the point of paranoia (is Mel stalking us)?? LOL

When we returned home from our sleepless in NYC trip....I told Madalyn how much I missed her and she said as dry and direst as ever........."Then why did you go"...........hmmmm...how do you answer that one? Then she said "Why does Ashley and John have to live so far away"....too cute! I want to take the kids for our next trip....I LOVE NYC. I would move there if I could :)

Post soon.......

New School Year

I am finally posting again! With the new school year we have been busy needless to say. Madalyn started kindergarten.....sad day :) Matthew started 4th grade. Both are doing sports this fall. Matthew is playing tackle football for the first time and Madalyn is playing soccer for the first time. We have a lot of firsts as you can tell :)

Shawn and I are copping with all of the new stuff going on. Parenting can be so exhausting and yet so rewarding all at the same time. I almost feel like we are back at the baby stage waiting for the kids to do something new and how we can handle it and move forward. For instance Madalyn's first day of kindergarten. We were so excited to see what she had to say. First words out of her mouth after that "first" day.............I got kissed by a boy. LOL You just don't ever know what they are going to say. I loVe it!!!

I hope everyone is doing okay. We

Matthew.....much better :)

Matthew is a different child today. He is feeling so much better!! I think the sleep, medicine, fluids have helped him. He still has a dull headache, but nothing like what he had...YEAH!! He is wanting to eat again and watch TV. Definite sign that he is back to himself! :)

Summer Life for Madalyn Grace

Madalyn Grace has been going to her preschool this summer and having fun with her little posy of friends. She loves it! They do arts and crafts, swim day and bike day. Bike day is one of her favorites because she made her bike helmet or should I say I made it late one night after a temper tantrum in the middle of walmart when the princess bike helmet didn't fit her head. LOL Parenting is so much fun! :) Madalyn played Tball this year, it ended this last week. She did such a great job. She hit the ball numerous times out to the grass which is a really big deal for her age group :)

Madalyn has also started what they call "Vision Therapy". She has one eye that decides to poop out on her and strays a bit. So she is seeing Dr. Tyler Kramer (who I might add is amazing at what she does) 2 days a week and then we do vision therapy on the computer 3 days a week at home. What is really neat is Madalyn's results are then set to Dr. Tyler for her to see how she is progressing each dayTechnology today is great! Well I think that is it for now. I need to go check Matthew's temp and also get to work. I am trying to work from home while taking care of the sicky boy!!

Summer Life with Matthew

Well here goes.....my first attempt at blogging. Here's an update on our Summer Life.

Matthew is almost finished with summer school. He is also playing Baseball. He has hit a home run at every game accept one. He hit a triple hit on the game he didn't hit a home run. George if you are reading this I know you will be proud. His teammates call him the "Power Hitter". How cool is that :) This year Matthew has just exceled in every sport he has played in....he is becoming our little athlete! I am so proud of him.

Another little note about my little man..............Saturday afternoon he came to me complaining of a headache. I gave him some Motrin and thought that would do the trick. By 4:30 he said Mom I just don't feel good. I checked him and he had a 103.3 temp. As many of you know we have had to deal with Febrile seizures with Matthew when he was little, so I don't take fevers very lightly. In fact I go into a mommy panic mode trying to not show him how nervous I am. I took him to the emergency room per the pediatric nurse on call. To make a long story short at this point today I spoke to the doctor and they believe he has Viral meningitis. It has been going around Madalyn's preschool. She thank God doesn't have any signs and symptoms, but Matthew unfortunately has been hit pretty hard. All he does is sleep with the covers over his head. We are just waiting for him to get better :) IF he isn't better by Wednesday we have to go back to the doctor. So needless to say we are on lock down at the home front until he is better. We also are getting some stronger medicine to help with the horrific headache is having. It is so hard as a mom not to be able to take the pain away so I turn to the medication that will hopefully do the trick :)
